Regular monitoring of your peak flow is extremely useful for controlling diseases of the airways such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or chronic bronchitis.

 Asthma attacks are indicated in advance by low peak flow values before you feel it! Contact your doctor in cases such as these. Also do so if you have signs and symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing, or wheezing.
